Additions in increments of five years’ service are recognised by a cupronickel bar featuring the EII / EIIR (Queen Elizabeth II Royal Cypher) in the centre, flanked by sprigs of wattle.
When the ribbon is worn alone, a clasp is represented by:
- a nickel-plated round rosette (up to 4), and then
- a silver miniature Federation Star for each period of 5 years beyond that.
